Cleaning and restoration work exposes technicians to chemicals, biological hazards, wet and electrical environments and, in older buildings, asbestos. This online WHS training course is written for cleaning and restoration businesses and shows you the policies, risk assessments and protective equipment you should have in place.
You will learn how to read safety data sheets and carry out a chemical risk assessment, how to select the right PPE for restoration jobs, and how workplace health and safety applies day to day in restoration. A bonus video covers WHS for carpet and upholstery cleaning, so you have a solid foundation before moving on to restoration. The Asbestos Awareness module explains what asbestos is, why it is dangerous and what protective measures to take. It is included for learning and is not assessed.
Who is this course for?
- Owners who need WHS policies and training records for their staff
- New technicians starting in cleaning or restoration

How the assessment works
The WHS in Restoration, Chemical Risk Assessment and PPE Selection modules each end with an assessment. You need 75% to pass, you can retake within your 90 days, and once all assessed modules are passed you receive your Certificate of Completion. The assessment is included in the course price.
